And the song of the day is...

Stolen
Dashboard Confessional

We watch the season pull up its own stage,
And catch the last weekend of the last week
Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced
Another sun soaked season fades away

You have stolen my heart
You have stolen my heart

Invitation only grant farewells
Crash the best one of the best ones
Clear liquor and cloudy eyed
Too early to say goodnight

You have stolen my heart
You have stolen my heart

And from the ballroom floor, we are in celebration
One good stretch before our hibernation
Our dreams assured and we all will sleep well
Sleep well, sleep well, sleep well, sleep well

You have stolen, you have stolen,
You have stolen my heart

I watch you spin around your highest heels
You are the best one of the best ones
And we all look like we feel

You have stolen my, you have stolen my
You have stolen my heart

At 22, I Believe

  1. In God, in Jess, although sometimes I tend to doubt him when I am in pain.
  2. That the main purpose of rain is to quench the thirst of tiny plants and the dry earth. To bring about the suspension of classes, is only secondary.
  3. That Christmas is the best holiday.
  4. That every child should own a box of Crayola crayons.
  5. In fairies. And fairy tales--not necessarily in them coming true, but at least in the comforting thought that things will turn out okay in the end, and we'll all live happily ever after.
  6. That cows are adorable creatures.
  7. Ice cream should not be eaten alone.
  8. That pink is such a pretty color.
  9. That every girl should never go out without a little blush, mascara, and some lip color. But she should always believe that she is pretty even without make-up.
  10. That instead of staging people power revolutions, Filipinos should instead invest their time and effort in finding a solution to our problems. Stop blaming every little problem to the whoever is President. Remember, the President is as human as we all are, and he or she should not be blamed for natural calamities, global warming, pollution, and the celebrity break-ups.
  11. Sundays are for family.
  12. That love is a movement. "I know you are there for me because my love is moving towards you."
  13. That children are our future. (Teach them well and let them lead the way)
  14. I am a Queen.
  15. Most Chinese boys are selfish. And they don't have the balls to fight for what they want. In other words, they're idiots and assholes.
  16. Every woman must own a pair of lusty, red shoes.
  17. In Santa Claus.
  18. Fridays are perfect days to fall in love--and so are rainy days.
  19. That love does not require seeing each other everyday. Absence still makes the heart grow fonder.
  20. That there is no such thing as confusion--just moments of extreme stupidity.
  21. That 80's music is timelessly funky.
  22. That God is in most people we meet. Sometimes, He is in the moment.

What Birthday?

"Switchfoot - Let That Be Enough"

I wish I had what I needed
To be on my own
'Cause I feel so defeated
And I'm feeling alone

And it all seems so helpless
And I have no plans
I'm a plane in the sunset
With nowhere to land

And all I see
It could never make me happy
And all my sand castles
Spend their time collapsing

Let me know that You hear me
Let me know Your touch
Let me know that You love me
And let that be enough

It's my birthday tomorrow
No one here could know
I was born this Thursday

And I feel stuck
Watching history repeating
Yeah, who am I?
Just a kid who knows he's needy

Let me know that You hear me
Let me know Your touch
Let me know that You love me
And let that be enough

*how strange that this is exactly how i feel. and well, I was indeed born this Thursday, 22 years ago.

Paco and Lia

To my audience (if there are any), I would like you to meet, my nephew, Pablo Joaquin. 4.8 lbs of pure boy-ness. He'd still look like a boy if you dressed him up in pink clothes (which again, I am telling my sister, is perfectly fine, TOUGH GUYS WEAR PINK, right?) . He is terribly tiny. So he gets to be called Tiny Person and not Little Person #2, after his big sister Lia. Even his cries are so tiny they sound like puppy whimpers.

Lia is still terribly jealous of her baby brother. But we're pretty sure (hoping) that it will just be a phase.

Last night while i was putting on Paco's mittens, Lia stood beside the crib and reached for my hand. Then she screamed at me and wouldn't let go of my hand. Obviously, her statement was, "Don't touch the baby, Tita, you're mine!" Think Rugrats the Movie.

Jealous little baby princess. I keep assuring her though that she will always be tita's favorite baby princess. And because she is, here is a picture of the baby princess, being princess-y while napping. She's so big now and even spunkier. I knew she had spunk the first time I saw her, but well, she's got more spunk than I thought one baby girl could ever have. And she is such a pixie. Lia the Big Little Pixie Person. I wonder how Paco would turn out to be. Hmmmm...

Little Brother

It's May! It drizzled today. Is a 5 minute drizzle considered rain? Will this afternoon's drizzle be the first rain of May? I sure hope not. I'm still wishing that the first rain of May(which is considered to be lucky) will fall on the 10th.

I'm sleepy as a sloth.

Tomorrow, Lia will be a big sister to a baby boy. Tomorrow, I will be Tita Mika to Lia and Paco. Oh joy. :)

Anyway, back to working on my baby project for the sisters. It actually makes me feel terribly happy to work on this project. At least in cyberspace, my sisters are never too far--never too out of touch.

Will post pictures of Paco as soon as he gets roomed in. :)
